About Cokes

Cokes comes at you with no warning. The takeoff is steep and fast, and the moment you stand, you’re already freefalling into the pit. It jacks up hard over a shallow ledge, and if you hesitate, the reef will remind you who’s boss. But if you commit, you’re rewarded with one of the thickest barrels in the Maldives. Mid to high tide helps with cushion, but I’ve surfed it low when it’s razor sharp and still couldn’t wipe the grin off my face. Best on SE swell, brushed by a light W-NW wind. The first section is all speed and reaction, then it opens into a deeper tube that you can stand tall in. Not a long ride, but unforgettable.

It’s got weight. It’s got presence. You feel it in your bones. Crowds show up when it’s on, but it’s not for everyone. When Cokes is pumping, you’re not surfing for style. You’re surfing to make it out. And that’s enough.

🔴 Insider Tip
Cokes works best at Low to High tide. At low, it’s fast and shallow — not for the faint-hearted. Watch the first two sets before paddling out.
🔴 Insider Tip
Don’t underestimate the storms in the Maldives. The stronger the winds, the stronger the currents. Its wise to go in and stay on land until the storm passes.
🔴 Insider Tip
When paddling out from the small island, wait for the sets waves and paddle fast to go out or else you might end up on the reef or lose your fins and plugs.
