About Quarters

Quarters sits just off Gulhi, not far from the island’s eastern tip. It’s a right-hander with two distinct sections. The outside is mellow, lines up nice and long, and gives you plenty of room to draw it out. But the real fun is on the inside. The wave stands up thicker than it looks, throws out a chunky little barrel that’s not as hollow as it pretends to be but still good enough to tuck into and hold the line.

I’ve had sessions here where the two sections link up clean, and if you know what you’re looking for, it’s possible to ride the whole thing from start to finish. It’s not the heaviest wave in the atoll, but it’s got personality. When the tide is right and there’s a bit of punch in the swell, Quarters gives you just enough to stay interested. Easy to surf, not too crowded, and a good change of pace from the more serious breaks nearby.
